Wireless Alert App & Service Privacy Policy

Corintech Ltd. is a private company limited by shares registered in England under number 1339950. Corintech respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.

This privacy policy tells you how we collect and process your personal data when you use our Wireless Alert app (the "App") and associated alerting service (the "Service"). This policy also describes your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

When you visit our website or contact us, we use your personal data in different ways. For more information please refer to our general Privacy & Cookies Policy at www.filesthrutheair.com/privacy-cookie-policy.

The Data We Collect About You

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified.

When you use the App we collect the following types of personal data about you:

    a)        email address - we ask you to provide an email address in order to receive email alerts, summary reports and maintenance notifications. We also ask if you would like to receive marketing emails from us; and

    b)        device information such as hardware, firmware, MAC address and IP address - we collect this information in the background and use it to help us develop and troubleshoot the App. Usage data (such as number of emails generated) is linked to your hardware's MAC address and to your email address.

Grounds for processing

We process your information because we have a legitimate interest in:

    a)        providing you with the App and Service, having bought our sensor product(s); and

    b)        monitoring your usage of the App for development and troubleshooting purposes.

When you provide us with your email we will ask you if you want to receive marketing emails from us. If you say yes then we will process your email address for this purpose on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us or clicking the unsubscribe link in one of our marketing emails.

Disclosure of your personal data

We need to share information about you with the following people in order to operate our business and the App/Service:

    a)        Group companies. Corintech is a member of a group of companies, of which Lascar Electronics Ltd is the sister company. Corintech shares personal information with Lascar Electronics as necessary to support our services and to improve our customer insights. The Group complies with data protection law when processing such data.

    b)        Service providers. We provide information to our service providers acting on our behalf (for example our digital marketing partners or credit search providers). On occasion, we also share personal information with our professional and legal advisors. Our service providers are bound by obligations of confidentiality as well as contractual obligations to comply with data protection law.

     c)        Courts and public authorities. We share personal information with law enforcement and other public authorities, e.g. to report a fraud or in response to a lawful request.

    d)        Business or asset sale. In the event that we sell any business assets, the personal information of our customers may be disclosed to a potential buyer. In this event, we will ensure the buyer keeps such information confidential and complies with data protection law in its handling of your data.

Corintech is part of a global group and also uses service providers based around the world. Consequently, your personal information may be processed in countries outside of Europe, including in countries where you may have fewer legal rights in respect of your information than you do under local law. If we transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area we will, as required by applicable law, ensure that your privacy rights are adequately protected by appropriate safeguards. Typically this will involve both parties entering into model clauses approved by the European Commission.

How long your information is kept for

Where we no longer have a need to keep your information, we will delete it. This may be because you have asked us to terminate your account, or because you have not used the App for a significant period of time.

Please note that if you unsubscribe from our marketing communications, we will keep a record of your email address to ensure we do not send you marketing emails in future.

How we protect your personal data

We have put in place appropriate operational and technical measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to receive it. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality

We will always store your digital information on secure servers. Unfortunately, however, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our App or otherwise to our servers (such as by email). Any such transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Your legal rights

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data, including the right to:

      a)       request access to your personal data;

      b)       request correction of your personal data;

      c)       request erasure of your personal data;

      d)       object to the processing of your personal data;
