Monitoring Chilled and Frozen Food Storage at The Railway Hotel

FilesThruTheAir has played an important role in ensuring that the recently renovated Railway Hotel has a robust temperature monitoring system across all food and drink storage environments. This will help them protect their stock from temperature damage, ensure that they store food safely, and offer their customers an unbeatable dining experience.

Between 2019 and 2020, the outdated Augustus John pub in Fordingbridge, Hampshire underwent an extensive renovation. Returning to its original identity as The Railway Hotel, the renovation included structural work to include seven en-suite hotel rooms, decoration to create a unique railway station theme throughout the building, and the installation of a modern kitchen which will help the hotel build a reputation for outstanding food. The kitchen is where FilesThruTheAir came into the equation.

FilesThruTheAir supplied The Railway Hotel with a Wi-Fi connected data logger for each different food storage environment, including three professional refrigerators, two freezers and one walk-in chiller. These devices automatically record temperature to one EasyLog Cloud account, giving Head Chef, Chris Lambird, and any other users that he wishes to add to the account, 24/7 access to live and historic data readings for each of the different measurement points, via any internet-enabled device (using internet browser or the EasyLog Cloud mobile app). They can also set custom high and low alarm limits in the Cloud, which will trigger an email notification to be sent to Chris’ email address.

“Overall, the service has been great. The EasyLog Cloud is a really user-friendly way for us to view and analyse the temperature of each unit over a given period of time and I’m happy that we have every precaution in place to protect our stock and ensure that we store food safely.” - Chris Lambird, Head Chef (The Railway Hotel)
